Bringing Violence to the Back Alley

ALBANY, NY – Just Wrestling is delighted to confirm the return to the independent circuit of GTT7 finalist Bruce “Violence Jack” Shanahan. Images of the promotion’s latest poster campaign, leaked late last night, feature the likenesses of Shanahan and the undefeated Back Alley Brawler beneath a prominent heading of “STREET FIGHT”. Jody Monroe confirmed that the leak was genuine, but when pressed refused to indicate at which of the five March Madness! shows this mouthwatering match will be scheduled to take place. One thing is for sure, though; with Just reported to have been struggling to attract bona fide superstars for the latest tour, this is the very definition of a “money match”.
The rivalry between Violence Jack and The Back Alley Brawler is unique in the modern era of wrestling for its unspoken intensity. While neither of the world-famous wrestlers has addressed the feud directly, hostilities began when Shanahan defeated the Bronx Barbarian in the first round of GTT7, in one of the closest matches of the entire tournament. Violence Jack went on to the tournament final, where he narrowly lost out to SCCW’s Desade, while the Brawler began his career in Just Wrestling, quietly and then more prominently making his way to a formidable 7-0 record, equalling the best debut streak in Just history. The man with whom he shares that record? Bruce Shanahan.
The Brawler and Violence Jack are two of the most respected and feared names in the business today. While both are extremely hot property, Shanahan’s recent tournament performance makes his return quite a coup for Jody Monroe. Brawler, a grizzled veteran of the business, has by contrast rebuilt his career on the back of his Just Wrestling success. Shanahan is a former Just Wrestling Champion, keeping the belt for 85 days before dropping it to longest-reigning GCW Heavyweight Champion of all time, Andy Murray, in an outdoor flaming cage match in Santa Barbara last August. Brawler has not held the belt yet, but has accumulated a remarkable three title shots by becoming MVP, winning the Lethal Lottery tournament and achieving three consecutive singles wins all in the same tour.
The Back Alley Brawler will be cashing in the first of his title shots against Just Wrestling Champion Jay Terror at the show in TC’s Pub Basement in the Bronx at the show on March 19. The intimidating underground venue holds fewer than 500 fans and, in his hometown, the Bronx Barbarian can count on fierce support. But Terror, ranked #2 wrestler in the world on Primetime Central’s latest rankings, is one of the biggest names in wrestling right now and the undisputed future of GCW. And although the date of the Street Fight with Shanahan has not yet been confirmed, the Brawler will either be sporting fresh scars or have the terrifying prospect of Violence Jack looming over him. One thing is for sure: March Madness! is sure to serve up a tasty set of some of the most brutal showpiece matches in Just Wrestling history.
The full touring roster will be confirmed tomorrow. Jody Monroe is reported to have confined herself to her office as she looks to push through some last-minute signings before her self-appointed deadline of midnight tonight.
