Just Wrestling stars join the Elite

ALBANY, NY – News has reached us this evening from the Primetime Central Elite Championship Committee that Just Wrestling’s Bruce “Violence Jack” Shanahan and The Back Alley Brawler will be rewarded for their recent excellence by both being entered into a four-way battle for the Elite Championship at the end of this month. Reigning champion Brandon Youngblood of PRIME, currently 3rd in the PTC Wrestler Rankings, will defend against Shanahan, whose impressive run to the GTT7 final sees him positioned 11th, and the Brawler, whose dominant performances in Lethal Lottery II saw him shoot into the rankings at #4, as well as current contender for SCCW’s Universal Championship Jared Sykes, who is 7th in the rankings.
The news is a great boost for Just Wrestling, which, as the only independent promotion in the PTC network, has to compete for recognition against far bigger and more financially powerful promotions with global reach. For two of the three Elite title contenders to be current Just Wrestling tourists is the strongest indication yet that the level of competition within the touring company is as fierce if not more so as those within the “Big 3″ televised promotions (GCW, PRIME and SCCW). The news also comes as some surprise, as GCW has been invariably praised in recent weeks for the highest-quality output in the network, yet is the only active PTC promotion without a representative in the match for Youngblood’s belt.
There will also be two matches to determine future contenders for the belt, one of which sees an opportunity for former MVP “Normal” John Johnson to secure himself a shot at the belt, if he can get past four contenders including The Torch’s favourite, James Varga.
