First there was the story of ‘Superstar’ Vince Jacobs getting into the film business after being offered the role of Marvel Comics superhero Thor, and then there were even wilder reports of Jesse Ramey doing the same by portraying a renegade bartender that’s the last of his kind. While all of this was happening though, did ACW’s very own half-man, half-vulture sneak under the radar and put in time in the next Wes Craven film? If the photograph below is any indication, it would appear so:

Though Carrion, also known as Koschei the Deathless, has proven impossible to find in hopes of making a comment on this image… it would seem for all intents and purposes the thing that holds the Black Title, is a perfect fit for scaring high school kids in the film My Soul To Keep. A plot synopsis of the more or less rote-sounding horror film is appended for your reading… err, pleasure.

In the sleepy town of Riverton, legend tells of a serial killer who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the night he died. Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again. Has the psychopath been reincarnated as one of the seven teens, or did he survive the night he was left for dead? Only one of the kids knows the answer. Adam “Bug” Heller was supposed to die on the bloody night his father went insane. Unaware of his dad’s terrifying crimes, he has been plagued by nightmares since he was a baby. But if Bug hopes to save his friends from the monster that’s returned, he must face an evil that won’t rest… until it finishes the job it began the day he was born.

Well. Stranger things have happened.

–

It’s always saddening for SilverHAWK to lose talented wrestlers, but on this day, it seems that the General Manager of ACW didn’t have much of an option. Earlier today, with COURAGE 120 on the horizon, SilverHAWK held a quick press conference to announce the release of two new signings.
“Yes, the stories some of you heard are indeed correct.” HAWK stated with slumped shoulders. “Noah Spencer and Coral Decanter have been released from their ACW contracts with immediate effect, and it is very unlikely that we’ll be taking them back any time soon.”

Noah Spencer made his debut on official ACW programming at COURAGE 116, in a defeat to JP Boudreau that was ultimately facilitated by longtime nemesis Coral Decanter. Spencer and Decanter had been plying their trade in the indepedent wrestling leagues back in the United States for the better part of three years, and the rivalry between the two men was present ever since they battled each other in their first-ever professional wrestling match. Noah Spencer found himself offered an ACW contract back in April of this year, and spent a couple of months in the All-Star Academy thereafter. Unknown to Noah, however, Coral was also offered a contract on that fateful night in April; the difference was, Coral was recovering from injuries and didn’t feature in the All-Star Academy at all.

With many people wondering about the circumstances that led to the dismissal of both men, SilverHAWK decided to cut to the chase: “It appears as if the rivalry between both Noah and Coral is extremely personal. It goes beyond the realm of professional wrestling. These two young men genuinely despise each other. I don’t know if one of them murdered the other’s dog or something, but the level of animosity between these two… is just shocking.

See, we had hoped that by sanctioning a Best of Seven Series between Noah and Coral, we would be able to help both men reach a clear and final resolution not only to their professional grudge but their personal feud as well. And by all accounts, the first match in their series a couple of weeks back was a positive step in the right direction. But ever since then, both Noah and Coral have just refused to play nice and as a result, there’s a laundry list of property damage to be claimed to their names.

The main instigator here is Coral Decanter. Continual sneak attacks on Noah Spencer backstage. The second match in their series? It was supposed to take place last week. Coral put an end to that by ambushing Noah in the toilets. By the end of the night, Noah gave as good as he took, attacking Coral in the parking garage next to the Skjern Bank Arena. Hence, we brought forward their match to tonight (COURAGE 120). But over the past two days, these two animals have been fighting each other in hotel lobbies and in the streets of Copenhagen; that’s just not right. If it was only property damage I had to deal with, it’d be okay. Several innocent bystanders were injured in the process!”

ACW’s travels across Scandinavia has been a successful one so far. Ratings for COURAGE have held strong, and there are already calls for ACW to come back to Scandinavia next year. However, with the image of ACW being soured slightly thanks to Coral Decanter and Noah Spencer found brawling in the National Gallery of Denmark the night before, SilverHAWK now has a PR issue to tackle with great care.

“Unfortunately, since the two of them couldn’t seem to control themselves, there was only one thing I could do!” SilverHAWK summed up, later expressing great regret that the situation had reached such an impasse.

Coral Decanter and Noah Spencer are currently in police custody, but they have not been jailed thanks to SilverHAWK working some of his magic. However, both Coral and Noah are expected to be leaving Copenhagen for their respective hometowns in the United States within the next few days, and they are no longer on ACW’s payroll at the time of writing. Neither man could be reached for comment as of yet.

More on the situation as and when it develops.

It has finally been confirmed this week that the announcement made by Garbage Bag Johnny at cult promotion Atlantic Wrestling Club’s little-watched August pay-per-view, All Summer Long, was accurate. Steven Caldera, GCW Owner & President, has acquired the historic promotion and will subsume it, with immediate effect, into GCW.

AWC originally ran from spring 2005 to winter 2006, and despite its short run, made an indelible mark on the worldwide wrestling landscape. The unique AWC formula combined quality wrestling with off-the-wall comedy and compelling storytelling, making world stars out of then unknown commodities such as Pierce Lavelle, “The Illustrious Face-Eater” Adam Dick, Ellis Nash, and most famously of all the current GCW Commissioner (and AWC Transatlantic Champion) Garbage Bag Johnny. GCW’s longest reigning World Heavyweight Champion of all time, Andy Murray, also came through AWC, where he was portrayed as a comedy character and held the Frontier Championship belt – an accolade also achieved by Tim Shipley, another AWC alumnus who is set to face Murray at the High Stakes pay-per-view.

Having closed abruptly in late 2006 when Dr. Kasidy Drake III took his revenge on the Club by buying it out, AWC lay dormant until earlier this year, when former Entertainment Manager David “Pearl” Harber took advantage of Drakewerx Pharmaceuticals’ financial struggles to buy the Club back for a pittance and reopen it. However, since the high-profile relaunch, AWC has struggled to reestablish the niche it had so effortlessly made for itself. Although AWC was set to do what it did best in making new stars, out of Diego Foster, Van Isaac Pryce and Steve Harrison, the promotion lacked the solid backbone it needed to compete with market-leaders GCW and Sin City Championship Wrestling. Moreover, Harber struggled to keep control over a locker room riven by tensions over pay, perks (AWC spent an enormous amount each week on the “Legends’ Lounge”, an area reserved for members of AWC’s Roll of Legends, few of whom even turned up to the shows), and Jack Murphy’s new AWC branch of the United Primetime Wrestlers union.

Though a summer lull is far from unheard of for a wrestling promotion, AWC’s troubles ran deeper than Harber could admit, and he seconded all day-to-day duties to former Transatlantic Champion Darcy “Crisis” Markson in order to focus on securing no-strings-attached investments from a number of firms. It’s even rumoured that he tried to solicit an interest-free loan from Live Twice Entertainment, a spin-out from the original AWC run operating in the Eurasian market. But Harber was unable to secure the necessary funds, and through Garbage Bag Johnny, arranged for AWC to become a part of GCW.

While some critics have labelled the move an “embarrassing climbdown” for a promotion once seen as the brightest (literally…) in the wrestling world, Harber rejects any suggestions that he has let down AWC fans. “Ultimately, what we all want to see is great story-telling in and around the wrestling ring,” Harber said in an exclusive interview with GCWOnline.net, “and to my mind GCW is leagues ahead of its competitors in that respect. By becoming a part of GCW, we’ve ensured that AWC joins and augments the strongest brand in the wrestling world.”

Harber remained tight-lipped over how many of his AWC roster would be offered television deals with GCW, and admitted there would be large-scale redundancies amongst the production and support staff. Even his own role is up in the air, with Caldera unwilling to solicit a position of power for Harber due to his worry that it would undermine GBJ’s position as Commissioner.

We will carry further updates as more news breaks on any changes to GCW’s corporate structure or television arrangements. We expect AWC personalities to make their first GCW appearances at High Stakes, though none will be scheduled to compete in the ring as they have not yet been offered contracts with the promotion.

Democrat Yamamoto Tanaka hit his devastating Japanese SuperDestroyer finisher on ‘American Citizen’ Kevin Scott (R) to retain the PCW Title last night at PCW’s Loose Cannons Lock and Load 5 Pay Per View show in Amarillo, Texas.

Tanaka came after Scott from the start but narrowly escaped an ankle lock submission early on. ‘The American Citizen’ hung in with the larger, stronger opponent until Tanaka took control late in the match.

The phenomenon known as Jill-Berg (R) pulled off a huge upset over the PCW Tag Team Champions Kings of Old School (D) with a little help from Sin City Wrestling’s Dorling, visiting PCW as part of his CWC World Tour. Jill-Berg now demands a shot at the PCW title but it appears the Leader of the PCW Competition Committee Nancy Pelosi (D) will not allow the match to take place.

Ken Worth- The American Trucker (I-American Heartland Coalition) retained the PCW Television Title, defeating Triple R (D).

Not too long ago, news broke about a movie project called THE LAST BARTENDER, and how ACW’s very own Jesse Ramey was considered for the titular role by independent movie producer Farkas Legonas.

Well, it seems we finally have a reply from the offices of Jesse Ramey.

And what did the Anti-Star himself have to say? “Fuck talking to my agent, I’ll be the first person to tell you that I turned down that fucking role like a live hand grenade. What the hell do I look like, a fucking schmuck? Vince Jacob is offered a shot to play a Marvel superhero and I’m fucking left with an offer to be a god-damn bartender during the prohibition era in American history? No, thank you very fucking much. If Hollywood wants to offer me something worth merit, I’ll fucking look into it… but this trash can be left to rot as far as I’m concerned.”

Strong response. When the news of Ramey’s comments had reached Farkas Legonas, the not-so-acclaimed movie producer only had this to say: “That’s fine if he wants to turn down a role like this; at least we can get Bruce Campbell to play the leading role. That motherfucker will accept ANY ROLE!”

And that’s the end of that. For now.
